Here you will find information regarding some of Scilly's special species. In some cases they are only found nowhere else in in the UK, whilst we have also picked a handful of the species we are most commonly asked about - this list could be huge!
We have also broken the list down so it's easy to see what species you can see Throughout the Year, or during specific seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter); these are the times you are most likely to see the listed species here in Scilly, but as always sometimes wildlife doesn't play by the "rules" and sightings are never guaranteed.
The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust's habitat management and habitat restoration work aims to promote and support many of these species whilst our education programme hopes to raise awareness of these important often unnoticed Scillonian characters and visitors.
Do remember that we rely on donations to continue our work. If you have searched, found and learned about our wildlife on our website, please Support Us and give what you can; thank you.
