Scilly's Nature Scilly's Special Species Orange birds-foot A lot smaller than the common and hairy bird's-foot-trefoil, the orange bird's-foot is seen as flecks of gold found amongst the low growing heathland vegetation. It often grows with its relative, bird's-foot, but that has tiny pink-veined white flowers as opposed to the bright yellow-orange flowers of the orange bird's-foot. The tiny orange bird's-foot is not only a native, but Scilly is the only place in the UK that you will find it growing - but only if you look closely enough!
