We are a wildlife conservation charity and as such we strongly advocate responsible tourism and wildlife watching; for that reason you may not get as close to our wildlife as you would like to, but there are very good reasons for that.

There are a number of WiSe Trained and accredited operators on the Islands; those who took advantage of the 2018 training organised by the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust with funding support from the Isles of Scilly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are listed below:

St Agnes Boating St Agnes Watersports The Sailing Centre
Isles of Scilly Boat Hire Scilly Seal Snorkelling SMBA - Sapphire
SMBA - Guiding Star SMBA - Golden Spray SMBA - Osprey
Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust St Mary's Harbour Team

This means that when you join them for a wildlife trip both you and our wild animals have a good experience.

If you see marine life being disturbed by anyone whilst in the Isles of Scilly, please call the Cornwall Marine & Coastal Code hotline on 0345 201 26 26.

What is WiSe Accreditation?

WiSe accreditation means that operators offering wildlife experiences have completed training regarding how best to view wildlife whilst minimising disturbance.  WiSe accredited operators have received instruction in local and national laws relating to wildlife disturbance, as well as species ID, history and behaviours of wildlife that they are likely to encounter.
