- A 4pp leaflet with information about grey seals on Scilly.
- A personal letter from us to you, thanking you for your adoption.
We will email you every season with updates on your adoption, including the impact of your support on our work. All our Adoption Packs are plastic-free and we have worked with artists and photographers who love the Isles of Scilly to bring you the best quality gift, perfect for a Christmas or birthday present (or to keep for yourself).
By adopting a Scilly seal, you are helping the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust look after our seas and the wonderful wildlife in them. Grey seals are among the rarest seals in the world. Persecution was once the main threat nationally, but now disturbance and entanglement are more of a cause for concern. Your support will allow us to keep key seal haulout sites safe from disturbance, as well as carrying out beach cleans, educating people about ocean wildlife and working with partners to monitor the local population of grey seals.
More than this, by conserving this iconic creature, your support will also benefit many other coastal species, including our seabird colonies and cetaceans, like common dolphins and harbour porpoises.
We look after around half of the Isles of Scilly, making sure that our islands stay special. We help wildlife thrive and provide opportunities for us all to enjoy nature. By adopting a Scilly seal, you’re helping to keep Scilly special for wildlife and people.
