- Four stunning postcards with local photography from photographer Isaac Ogden.
- A 4pp leaflet with information about Manx shearwaters on Scilly.
- A personal letter from us to you, thanking you for your adoption.
We will email you every season with updates on your adoption, including the impact of your support on our work. All our Adoption Packs are plastic-free and we have worked with artists and photographers who love the Isles of Scilly to bring you the best quality gift, perfect for a Christmas or birthday present (or to keep for yourself).
By adopting a Scilly shearwater, you are making a positive difference for Scilly’s special, but fragile, seabird populations. Scilly is one of only two breeding sites for Manx shearwater in England, and we have an international responsibility for the species – 80% of the world’s population breeds in the UK. Your support will allow us to monitor our seabird populations for changes and threats, as well as build resilience so that we can respond quickly to immediate threats, like Avian Influenza (bird flu) or rat incursions on breeding islands.
Seabirds face numerous other challenges, including climate change and plastic debris, so your adoption will also be support European storm-petrels, gulls like kittiwakes, auks including puffins and more.
We look after around half of the Isles of Scilly, making sure that our islands stay special. We help wildlife thrive and provide opportunities for us all to enjoy nature. By adopting a Scilly seal, you’re helping to keep Scilly special for wildlife and people.
